SUMMARY
Manages the cleanliness and upkeep of physical resources of the agency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages the physical resources of the agency.
Cleans and maintains organization of shelter and administration storage areas.
Cleans and maintains organization of health clinic, staff lounge, staff bathrooms, linen closet, janitor's closet, offices, and household storage areas.
Accepts, sorts, and organizes designated items donated for shelter services, using them to routinely stock appropriate areas.
Cleans empty resident rooms, prepares them for new clients.
Works in conjunction with maintenance staff to maintain floor care throughout the shelter (i.e. Carpet and VCT tile).
Assists client services staff with monitoring chore completion.
Cleans residential common areas as assigned by supervisor.
Places all donations going to the thrift store in appropriate routing areas.
OTHER DUTIES
In accordance with the team philosophy of the agency, may routinely be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed above.
Must act in accordance with the agency's mission statement and goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
On occasion, enlists and informally supervises clients in special projects such as donation sorting, stocking or extra cleaning.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to communicate in a helpful and courteous manner.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Food Handlers Certification (health card) required. Food Manager’s License required, or must be able to obtain within the first 6 months of employment. Maintenance of the Food Manager’s License will be required once obtained. Current Texas Driver's License required. Proof of automobile liability insurance required.
